Digital Camera Review

Casio Exilin EX-Z1080 in Portrait Mode

Casio Exilim EX-Z1080 Digital Camera Review

For 2008, in my opinion, the best digital point and shoot camera is Casio Exilim EX-Z1080.  I shot the above picture, quite casually, in portrait mode and you can note the blurring of the background.

Pros:

1. Its small, can be carried in a jeans pocket or a small purse.
2. It has a large sensor size (1/1.75 ” or 0.4 cm²).  Most other cameras have a smaller sensor and I believe that this features itself makes this camera standout among its peers.  Even Casio has smaller sensors in many of its recent cameras.
3. Long battery life.
4. Its very user friendly, you might get addicted to photography with this instrument.

Cons

1. It does not have manual controls.  I think manual controls in today’s digital cameras are overrated and most non-professional digital camera users do not need them.
2. Its not weather proof.  Well, its not a perfect camera.

Bottomline:  You must consider including  Casio Exilim EX-1080 digtal camera on your list.  After comparison shopping, I bought mine from Sears.
